Teachers

  Welcome to Lango Burbank!

Hola! My name is Martha Duarte, and I am the Director of Lango Burbank, which also covers the Toluca Lake and Studio City areas. My goal is to provide fun and high quality language-education for your children through a variety of interactive and full immersion activities.

With our approach and quality of instructors we ensure a fun and rewarding learning experience for your children. We offer native speaker teachers, small class size, parent feedback and an engaging curriculum based  on story telling, music,  games, movement-based activities, playacting and basic conversation which are essential to achieving our goal of an enjoyable experience for your kids.

Along with the Burbank Lango team I look forward to meeting you and sharing the gift of foreign languages with your kids!

I am a native Spanish speaker, born and raised in Nicaragua. I hold a degree in Early Childhood Education, along with 14 years of experience working at Head Start as a pre-school teacher. My passion for teaching and helping children learn and grow has been the primary reason to my commitment and long years of working with children. As a mother of two, I have seen the benefits of foreign language education during childhood. It stimulates a curiosity of cultural understanding that can lead to a life of greater opportunity and experience. During adulthood it becomes significantly difficult to learn a foreign language, making the Lango experience an opportunity to prepare our children for the future.

Hola! My name is Xiomara M. Puentes. I am Cuban decent and am a fluent spanish speaker. I have lived in Southern California and have had the opportunity to be able use both my languages throughout my profession. I have a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Cal State University, Los Angeles and have a Master Degree in Education from GCU.

I have twenty years of experience in teaching from Pre K all the way to college levels. My love for teaching is only compared to my love for my native language, Spanish. I am looking forward to passing on my two passions to children who possess an interest having fun in learning language.
In addition, I believe in staying active and healthy. My hobbies are Yoga and also am a personal trainer. I am CPR certified and also am qualified to teach CPR. I take long hikes with my daughter and we love to take part in 5K races for charitable events.

Nancy is a native Spanish speaker from El Salvador. She has been working in our Spanish summer camps for the past 3 years as well as doing private tutoring for Lango. She also teaches Spanish at Lango Burbank. She has tutored kids in math, drawing and Spanish, and she is currently a senior in college majoring in Civil Engineering. She spent a summer in El Salvador teaching ESL to children in a local elementary school. She enjoys learning about different cultures as much as she enjoys sharing her own with others. She is happy to share her love for the Spanish language with your children.
